Mama Caro was born Caroline Essapee Ametewee on November 22nd, 1960 in Takoradi, Ghana. She was baptized into the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and later confirmed into the same church at Takoradi. Caroline completed her primary education at the Trinity Presbyterian School in 1972. She attained her Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC) from Reverend Cleland Middle School four year later in 1976. She embarked on Trading right after middle school and joined her mother (the late Helena Damalie), who was in this business endeavors.
